Mark became a Master Mason on October 11, 1979 at West Gate Lodge #128 (Bellevue, WA).

In 1993 he was a recipient of the Hiram Award.

In 2003 he became a he became Worshipful Master of his home Lodge. This would be the 100th Anniversary of the Lodge having been founded in 1903. Also during his term, he also held the as a Deputy to the Grand Master of Washington.

In 2007 he received the one of the most coveted awards of Washington State, Grand Masters Award.

In 2010 he held a 2nd term as Worshipful Master.

In 2017 he again received honors as a Hiram Award recipient by his Brethren.
